Another difficulty encountered and solved by the Aliva technical department in the design phase was regarding the considerable sealing difference in the curtain wall. As a consequence, having to place the ceramic coating on a single external sealing, a façade thickness with a 22 cm difference (in different points of the building) was created between the wall systems flush with the external slab.
Therefore, aluminium extensions fastened with rivets on the L-shaped brackets (to reach the required thickness) and Z- shaped steel wind bracing brackets fastened to the extensions with rivets and plugged to the curtain wall (to prevent the L-shaped brackets from bending due to the wind thrust) have been provided for.
From an architectural point of view, another important problem was represented by the tower’s ceramic coating vertical modulation.
To align the various façades of the building, taking into account the position of the windows with respect to modulation of the slabs, a U-shaped profile has been designed and placed, serving as a string-course.
This profile marks and divides the floors of the building aligning the adjacent façades. Moreover, the use of these profiles along with the placement of the compensation slabs (cut directly on-site) has allowed all the horizontal lines of the architectural modulation to coincide.
Furthermore, the enclosure allows for 2 opposite solutions: a continuous glass façade of large dimensions on the front and the rear of the building, with rectangular windows that are complanar to the continuous façade, and our ventilated coating that develops on the ends bounding back against the glass continuous façades.
The placement has been carried out with Argentinean workforce, with two different for each of the two systems used. An Aliva Andes technician took care of training both companies on how to place the system, interpret the projects, and deal with all the problems that could arise. This kind of technical assistance has been tested by Aliva in all the countries in which it operates with its services, and has always proved excellent results, becoming a trademark among the services offered by Aliva.
