Physical characteristics: thermal protection
During summer, the Ventilated Facade is a true “thermal shield” for the building to which it is applied, protecting it from the heat, especially on southern and westward facing walls, enhanced by the constant flow of room temperature air which laps the external surface of the insulation.

"Summer heat shield" effect

Physical characteristics: thermal protection
The Ventilated Facade is used to create external facing walls with high HEAT INERTIA, which allow the exploitation of the thermal capabilities of a wall.
In short, two positive effects are achieved:
• During summer: heat wave displacement - meaning that heat penetrates into the dwelling in a reduced form and at times when the ambient temperature is lower.
• During winter: the wall takes longer to cool down.

Heat inertia
Physical characteristics: Soundproofing
Lastly, the Ventilated Facade allows for compliance with sound insulation regulations, since a 6 dB increase in the soundproofing capabilities means that the sound level within the affected room is reduced to half.
In fact, the Facade:
• is a multilayered system and thus absorbs more sound
• since its insulation is continuous and without interruptions, it easily eliminates sound transfer, more detrimental than thermal bridges
A proper selection of the insulating material and proper planning of the curtain wall lend the building a high level of soundproofing combined with economy in construction costs.
